Kritter Kountry was conceived out of an on-going need for personal pet care. Our Founder, Randall Garrett Herzon, known for his training both privately and for the entertainment industry, received continuous requests from his clients to watch and care for their pets when they were on vacation, traveling and working. As a licensed veterinary technician he also received numerous requests from clients to help them their pets special needs from basic care to on-going treatments. In 1996, Kritter Kountry was founded as a local San Fernando Valley business in Southern California with the purpose of providing professional, reliable, and loving Kare for all Kritters. Randall intended to set a high standard of bonded, insured and affordable pet care with a combination of services, beginning with initial free in-home consultations.

Services included in-home pet sitting, overnight care, private dog walks, pet nursing, pet geriatic care, pet hospice care, animal training, animal eductional shows, pet taxi, and pooper scooper service. He continued training and providing animals for the entertainment industry as well as conducted pet care seminars where he was dubbed the Pet Mentalist.

In 2001, tired of the LA rat race, Randall re-located back to Humboldt County, CA, home his alma mater Humboldt State University, where the Redwood Forest meets the Pacific Ocean. Starting from scratch he re-built Kritter Kountry covering all of Northern Humboldt County, providing Kare for all Kritters including dogs, cats, pocket pets, reptiles, amphibians, large animals and exotic pets.
